Topic: Tidying Up Transitions in a DJ mix

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

I have recorded a 2 hour long trance mix on Virtual DJ 8 - miraculously (for my ability) all but two of the transitions are fine! I really want to make the BPM constant throughout and I've tried the various editors on Virtual DJ 8 to harmonise those transitions but have had no success. I feel I may be missing something as I'm sure other DJs using this program must have come up against the same issue; could anyone help at all?

What's wrong exactly with the two transitions?

You could simply perform those two mixes again (just the parts that need replacing) then splice them in to the original, using audio editing software.

That sounds great, can I do that? I'm sorry, my technological know-how is poor and I should have been more specific, the transitions themselves in melody are OK but the BPM is out on each of them and that's how I mix, by matching beats. Which audio editing software could I use?

In all honesty it will be easier for you to try the mix again, the practice won't hurt, better to perfect the basics before anything else.
