Hi Everyone
I like to make playlists of songs that go together and save them for future use. When I make another list sometimes the same song is used but if I change the track number then this also changes the one in the list that I made earlier. How can you create a playlist and keep the order that you put them in without it changing the other lists.

Please can someone help with this and tell me how to do it. Many thanks and Happy Christmas

What do you mean by "change the track number"?

Are you changing the name of the file, or something in the tags? Surely if you were just repositioning the location of the track in a list, it wouldn't affect another list.

Hi groovindj
Maybe I did not explain myself properly. The way I create my lists are by track numbers say from 1 to 50. in that order. and I save that playlist in the order I wish it to be played. Now if I create another list of music and that list has a song from the 1st playlist say at number 35 and I change it in the tags to say number 1 then it changes that track number in all the lists that I have created. the way I create a list is I drop the songs in the automix window and then save it as a playlist but when i go to use that list of songs they are not in the order i put them in. how do i stop Virtual DJ doing that. Thank You

The tags are per song file. They are not per song in each playlist. So when you change the number you are changing it for the song, regardless of playlist.

VDJ can keep the order of the songs without the track numbers if your interested.

You could also make a VDJ Edit of the file and then just change the tag of the edit file. This leaves the original the same. The edit it just text in the database so it takes up no consiquential space.

You don't need numbers. VDJ will save playlists in a specific order without the need to do this.

Its in the manual.

Move the files around using drag and drop in the order you want.
