You won't get anywhere with Denon. Those controllers are legacy products now and won't be supported with updated drivers.
The WASAPI drivers are part of windows and do actually work better in most cases.

Wow! Didn't know they were legacy now, I bought the Denon MC4000 from new, at a disco supplier store near me.
I'll stick to the wasapi though anyway but thanks again for your help on this @kradcliffe, much appreciated!
