I noticed in my VJ options setting I have my Nvidia card set for video shows my gtx 1050 but when you open the video and right click it shows that it is still using my intel video card >?

When you right-click on the video it shows you the monitors available, not the card that is being used to render.
On a laptop, the monitor itself doesn't usually have a name, so it shows the adapter the monitor is connected to, which is always the integrated intel card.
