Lately Ive been seeing people have trouble with database or things being changed during updates. Some hating itunes or whatever media player they are using. Well I just wanna give my choice for media management it works great. MediaMonkey. I even bought the gold version. I usually dont buy beyond the free version unless im positive its no other choice for me, as with VDJ. In some of these videos its traktor the reference but it also works in VDJ. I use VDJ to dj thats it, my media is the monkey. So my full library is on my desktop, including movies. From that using the itunes script(shown in the video) I create my dj library. Then using freefilesync I copy everything over to my dj laptop and scan with VDJ for its database and freefilesync will update the files on my desktop if VDJ adds bpm or other tags and MM updates itself.
I would do videos myself to see how I actually maintain my library but i can record the audio at this time, but give it look through, especially if you have media all over the place. You can also setup to maintain your current file structure with out moving files around, like itunes will do by default.
