Hello. I have read thoroughly through the current EULA and have found that VirtualDJ does not allow use of the software for production use (making money at gigs) without a license. This raised many questions, and I have done some research to create these questions.
Research 1: I have read the legal sections of both the VirtualDJ 8 and ALL (available) previous versions. VirtualDJ 7 has no mention of use of the software at paid gigs, VirtualDJ 8 is the first to mention it. This being said, if the answer to the question below is "No", then an update to the VirtualDJ 7 legal is a must, as it can easily dismiss any legal action taken against the non-pro users.
Question 1: Can I use VirtualDJ 7 with a less-than-pro subscription/infinity at a paid gig? The EULA of VirtualDJ 7 does not state it not being allowed.
Research 2: I've done some searching for whether or not I can use the LE version at a paid gig, and have found it blatantly stated "Yes" in the thread below by a support staff member. Once again, if this is a "No" then legal updates are a must, or the post should be removed.
"NOTE: Home FREE is for non-commercial use only. It cannot be used for DJ gigs where you are being paid. VirtualDJ LE/Cue LE can of course be used at paid gigs." - http://www.virtualdj.com/forums/145028/VirtualDJ_7_Technical_Support_(MAC_Version)/Virtual_DJ_Home_VS_Virtual_DJ_sold_with_a_hardware_controller.html
Question 2: Can I use an LE license (included with a controller) at a paid gig (I am aware that the above thread is for VDJ 7)?
I have a downloaded copy of both the VDJ 7 and 8 legal (in the form of the full users manual) at the time of writing this. My hope is that an LE license can be used at a gig. If not, guess I will be forking out some cash for the full version soon, as I plan to make money using VDJ soon.

Do you have a copy of LE?

I have purchased a controller that includes a copy of VDJ 8 LE. It will be arriving within a couple days.

According to that page, LE can't be used for paid working

Ah, right you are. That rules out any question about VDJ 8. But what about 7? The legal for 7 does not mention anything about paid gigs, and that thread for VDJ 7 said that the LE version of 7 could be used for a paid gig.
It did also say that FREE was not allowed to be used at paid gigs, and the EULA for 7 does not mention anything about paid gigs, but it was a staff who said it, so I won't argue there.
Thanks for the information, I may invest in pro soon. Do you happen to know if the Gemini GMX offers a discount to pro using the LE serial?

V7 is looking like a grey area but you'll be getting v8, so, erm it's a moot point isn't it?
As for discount, you need your le serial to check for discounts, on the buy page

Only pro or subscription versions of VDJ can be used for paid gigs, that includes 7 or 8.

Actually there have been at least a couple of posts made in the past by Atomix teamers that say VDJ 7 LE can be used for gigs.
Of course this won't help Mr TechEdison to avoid buying a license as VDJ 7 LE (or indeed any VDJ 7 version) won't work with his nice new controller.

Yup. Plus there's no reason to start any legal arguments anyways, It's a spirit of the law vs letter of the law issue. I'm happy to pay the nice people here for making amazing software :)
