Hi Guys,
I've just restarted playing around with VDJ and came across something that strikes me as odd.
When enabling the forward spin option and using the jogwheel to do a forward spin the music will come to a complete stop before starting at the play speed again.
In a vinyl world the turntable will have momentum and thus a forward spin would resume its normal playing speed and never drop below that.
Unless offcourse the turntable is turned off, but then offcourse the music would not resume at all.
I've been playing with the ramp options, but these don't seem to do the trick.
Is there a way to alter this behaviour so it's more "vinylly".
I never payed attention to this, however using the included serato with my new Terminal Mix 8 controller does this properly.
It felt strange not to have this in VDJ.
Regards

I believe it is the "touchWheelForwardspin" option.

Yes , I am referring to the touchWheelForwardspin option.
When enabled this will enable the forward spin effect.
This effect makes a track completely stop at the end of the spin and (almost) instantly resumes the track at normal speed.
With true vinyl it will not stop the track or drop below the normal speed.
Here is a very very very very bad illustration :
Vinyl
|..|..|..|..|..|..|..|..|..|..|||||||||||||||||||||||||.|.|..|..|..|..|..|..|
normal speed - forward spin - resume normal speed
VDJ
|..|..|..|..|..|..|..|..|..|..|||||||||||||||||||||.|.|...................|..|..|..|..|..|
normal speed - forward spin - full stop - instant normal speed
So my question is, how do I get the true vinyl forward spin ? =)

The 'touchWheelForwardspin' option is to allow a forward spin, so will pretty much give the exact opposite of what you want :)
I can't think of any option that would permit this behaviour I'm afraid.

Pitch up a few hundred % return the pitch to the old value on a log or quad scale

Here is a demo of vdj vs serato using forward spin.
Note the option touchwheelforwardspin is enabled.

As you can hear there is a distinct difference in functionality.
Please fix VDJ team =)

What I meant was there is no user setting for this at the moment ;)
