Topic: Internal Soundcard gives better video perfomance than DDJ-SX2 soundcard

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

My MBP internal soundcard gives better video perfomance than DDJ-SX2 soundcard.
If I switch from between internal to controller soundcard the videoclips freezes after a few seconds (audio continues). The internal soundcard gives no problem or freezes at all, but that's not the way to work because in this setting I have no headphones-audio/pre-listening. The audio routing should be through the controller, right?

My MBP (mid 2011) has the minimal system requirements and one videocard.
Does anybody recognize this problem and knows how to fix it?

I'll give this a bump.

I've noticed that the load on the cpu varies with the type of soundcard. Basically some sound cards maybe resource hogs.

Minimum specifications are no good for video work, you need the recommended specifications.

Most likely your MAC's internal sound card is 48KHz while SX2 is 44.100 Hz

The difference between the sample rates of the cards can cause different behaviour on systems with low specs since VirtualDj has to resample the source file to match the sound card.
Therefore, since most videos have 48K sound, with internal sound card VirtualDj does not need to do any resampling. However with SX2 it does, and if your system is weak spec wise this can lead to performance degradation.
