This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Hi
My friend is buying a new PC (thats why im posting) and looking to eventually do some djing.
He has 2 technic sl b2 sl d2 and needs to know if its compatible with any dj console on the market (rmx, numark,..)
of course, also working with VDJ, and what is the software needed for timecode.

Thanks for your help :)

Ok, i think he will have trouble because its belt driven..:(

If you're referring to the SL-BD22 then it's the wrong type of turntable for DJ use.

The belt drive is the least of the problems. There is no start button, so my guess is that it's started by picking up the arm and moving it over towards the platter (there are lots of gears and mechanical linkages to the arm) which is no use for cueing. The stop button probably lifts the arm from the vinyl as part of its action - which again is no use for DJs. This is a hifi turntable designed for playing vinyl at home, and for that it's fine.

Ah now that's slightly diferent. It's direct drive turntable with pitch adjustment. Unfortunately it's still an automatic model.

It could be modified by removing the mechanics and fitting a start/stop switch - but it's probably not worthwhile because of the plastic body and the low torque motor.

seems to me that he told me its belt drive..
may be he forgot.
