Topic: VDJ 8.2 upgrade error message

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

So i clicked yes the 8.2 upgrade and got a message saying the following:

windows cannot access the specified device,path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permission to access the item.

I have had no issues with any upgrades as i am a pro user.

Can anyone with a windows pc please help me solve this issue.

Thank you very much for that link. It did the trick. The only thing that concerns me is that if I want to upgrade to 8.2 or any future updates I wont be able to. What can I do to get the newer version to work correctly? Why wouldn't this update work just like any other updates? Is it Atomix? I appreciate any feedback you can give me.

The auto-update often doesn't work, because windows is locking/blocking something.
But you can always get the new version on this page and simply install on top of the old one.
If windows is still locking something VDJ needs, it'll just ask you to restart
