Hello Fellow DJ's!
A friend and I are starting a shuffle club at our school, and we want to purchase speakers for the club. I have a Mixtrack Quad that have RCA outlets built into the back. Most of the speakers that we are looking to purchase only have speakon audio outlets, and being still a "noobie" I am having trouble figuring out how to hookup the controller to the speakers. Had I known that the Mixtrack had only RCA outlets I would have reconsidered the controller I purchased but I was completely new to DJ'ing at the time and don't have money to get a new controller/mixer. Is there anyone out there that can help me with this dilemma? Thank you in advance.

Are you sure you mean speakon? Afaik speakon are 2 or 4 pole,
I think you mean xlr, (also known as cannons for the old school)
Xlr to rca is a pretty standard wire,
Rca to speakon is unusual,
Best bet is link us to the speakers you are thinking about.

I'm with locodog on this -- Speakons are intended for running between an amplifier and a speaker.
The input jack of a speakon connection could be confused for a similar item called a Combo.
The Combo takes either an XLR or 1/4 inch phone plug. You can tell the difference by looking at the center hole-- Combo has three notches take out-- Speakon has smooth round hold with no notches taken out.
Like locodog said-- link the speakers you are looking at. :)

the speaker in the picture have 1/4 inch and XLR inputs
i would run 1/4 inch cable to your RCA and buy 1/4 to RCA adapter plugs like this -> http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/GPR104
the 1/4" cable will handle the distance better then RCA cable and it will be better shielded. something like this -> http://www.zzounds.com/item--HOSHSS?siid=122433

with that cable would i be able to run the 1/4" cords to two speakers?

you will need a cable and adapter for each speaker the ones i posted
the one you posted should do both but keep in mind how close do u want the speakers together? a single cable may limit you.
