hi guys
is it possible to connect the vms 4.1 or any controller for that matter between the hdmi port on a laptop to use as an audio output instead of using the usb ports?

If you ask if you can use a controller while the sound gets outputted through a HDMI cable to a HDMI capable device (TV, Home Theater Amplifier) then yes.
If you ask if you can route the sound of a HDMI port to your controller, then no, it's not possible directly. You will need an audio decoder that will decode the HDMI signal and output the different audio channels in analog format that you can then route to your controller with standard RCA cables.

ok thanks :)
only reason I asked was because usb ports seem to become very loose after time and cause drop outs and disconnections, so I thought ide look at the HDMI possibility
I wonder if there is a codec package available somewhere that would provide a solution
time to consult google I think
