The device works perfect with VirtualDj 8.
It will NOT work with VirtualDj 7

planning on moving to 8 but sceptical as vd7 is still rock solid for me .hopefully ill get help setting up 8 but mine will be simple just loops and a few samples for karaoke ect.
just need to have a look at vdj8 settings

There are a few changes between 7 & 8 to do with video (sampler) and karaoke. May be better looking in to this first as they work differently.

yeh sure i can kerp 7 on backup laptop fir karaoke gigs.so for audio only will there be much to set up for8. so does sx work with both

Yeah. If you're not bothered for the coloured pads just get the SX as there's very little difference.

Trying using VDj-8 with the DDjsx-2 I was the same way with VDJ-8 using VDJ-7 if you start using VDj-8 keep it update .if you have open VDj-8 and you folder are not the same with VDJ-7 save your music/folder in the playlist folder then open VDJ-8 make new folder then drag the music to new folder to match your music from VDj-7.

Its not the playlist side pal its the set up side.ive 8 on my laptop and use sam xml file so all good there.

so lads will sx work with both 7 & 8 seamlessly if anyone using sx shout
cheers

You may have missed this from above.

It's confusing but the SX (not 2) works perfectly with both version 7 & 8. The SX2 only works with version 8.

It may be confusing to some, but it states on the controller support page, that it does not work with 7. Even though it's a possibility that the list was not updated, If Phantom says it's not, I tend to believe him. I know it may seem cold, but 7 has run it's course. I believe the company has gone way past their original cutoff date for support, and still upgraded it several times. I have no idea what the company will do, but to expect continued support for 7 is unrealistic. Maybe it's just me, but I personally would not buy any controller unless it is fully supported by Virtual DJ.

Topic title and original question was about DDJ-SX2
Hence my answer, SX2 is fully supported on VirtualDj 8, but it's NOT going to be supported by VirtualDj 7

Original SX (the old model) is supported by both VirtualDj 7 & 8

Rick, although the thread title was about the SX2, he then asked about the SX hence my reply.
