Topic: Radio / Pop DJ Inspirations?

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Hi everyone,

I've been looking awhile for some new dj soundclouds or podcasts that primarily mix top 40 hits, hip hop, and throwbacks. Do you guys happen to know any that you like to follow and listen to? For example, the mix below by Mr.Shaw is a perfect example; unique transitions and mashups of radio hits and well known hip hop:

I have been djing for about two years now, mainly doing house parties and some small corporate functions. I would love to start actively listening to more djs who primarily mix the genres I described above; do you guys listen to any or know of any?

Thanks in advance

You need to subscribe to dj pools such as clubkillers, dj city, crooklyn clan etc where they have tracks with many different transitions and remixes.

This is a very rare mix and obviously you won't find many like it cos it won the clubkillers contest!

If you want only the pop tracks you will have to search billboards various charts and pick out the correspinding endless remixes from the dj pools.

You won't be able to immediately do what this guy did, but you can get a lot of those intros and inspiration from the songs on a dj pool. Then later you can start trying to actually do the same thing manually using samples, rolls, scratching and hot cues. But practically speaking you need to use ready mady intros feom the dj pools to do continuous gigs.

Producing is a whole other artform.

You signed up to a DJ pool that you created?

I signed up for http://greenhitz.com DJ record pool for a lot of really high quality music and promo downloads...

To bad they make you leave a comment for any tracks you wanna download and they push a lot of unknown artists, which isn't a bad thing but they aint any different then any other pool that's out there.......oh and its pretty much all rap music....... Oh and the emails never stop once you do sign up.

Not really worth it unless you want straight rap music.....
