Hi, I bought a used Mixtrack which came with used software. When i download Virtual DJ it asked me to enter the serial number, i got a Protection Error message, also when i try to register it on Virtual DJ it says serial number already registered. is there any way i can get a new serial number?

I don't think so.
As far as I know the virtual dj license is not transferable, so you can't buy/sell a "used" license together with for instance a controller

You must have downloaded VDJ 7 if it's asking for a serial number.
VDJ 8 is the latest version and doesn't require a serial number. You just need to buy a license.

Unfortunately, the above answers are correct. The license and serial numbers, are not transferable. You have a few options. You can buy a controller license that will allow you to use that controller only. A subscription license, that will allow you to use any controller, but you have to pay every month.
