Topic: Missing Keyboard Mapping (Delete Key)

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

I no longer have the ability to delete songs in the sideview panel with the "delete" key. I went through and changed my keyboard mapping on VDJ 8.1 to reflect my personal preferences, but I don't have anything mapped to the "delete" key. Any ideas of what happened or how to restore the function of that key? Thanks!

So, you click-select a track in sideview (automix , Sidelist etc) using mouse and then the DELETE key from your keyboard doesnt remove the selected track ?
Just tried and works fine here.

That is correct. I think I messed something up while configuring my keyboard mapping.

You should be able to switch back to the default mapping to test.

ahh you are on Mac. Well, on Mac the DELETE key is actually the BACKSPACE in Windows. Thats why the deletion doesnt work for you.
Try holding down the FN key and then press the DELETE

My FN and delete doesn't work I have to use OPT and Delete. Try that?

if you want to custom map it: Go to CONFIG->CONTROLLERS tab. Highlight KEYBOARD. Now click in KEY LEARN box and press your DELETE Key. Now in the ACTION box Enter: browser_remove

Thank you for this. Now, is there a way to restrict it to only deleting from the sidelist pane? As it is now, it will delete a song if highlighted in the main browser window. Not a huge problem, as it seems that the playlist will repopulate if you click on it again, but could cause some issues.

browser_window 'sideview' ? browser_remove : nothing
