I don't do Mac so I can't help you, but I can bump this up. You don't need a video capture device? Secondly, can you get the camera to display, outside of Virtual DJ?

If your external webcam is Mac compatible it should work.
Below is the screenshot of the knob (right bottom corner) - currently showing "built-in-camera."
If you turn the knob clockwise it will display the capture of the next available camera.
Additional Option - http://www.virtualdj.com/user/938MyDJ/blogs/4726/Iphone_as_Webcam_on_SBDJ_Camera_Plug-in.html
(Although I only use this on VD7 long time ago, I assume it will work with version 8 too)

I've been following this and the other post and hopefully this may help, if it doesn't, at least it can be crossed off the list.
If I can remember rightly, some guys were having the same type of problem some years back trying to get a camera to work with Firetext and other plugins that had camera facility and the problem they were having when using an external webcam/camera was they forgot to disable their internal camera, after disabling the internal cam the majority of guys were able to then use the external features.
Hope that might help, if not... your on your own, lol.

I will close this, as the conversations has indeed moved on to yet another thread.
