After recording I accidently closed VDJ before pressing stop record. Is there anyway of altering the file so it's playable? All the data is there, but won't play.

If it a mp3 you could try foobar2000 it has a way to rebuild the mp3 stream.

No, it's a WAV. file. It's annoying that a warning message doesn't appear like it does when playing a track.

There is an option for it.
I don't remember the name, so just search for closing, shutdown or something like that.
Oh sorry... You meant a warning if no track is playing but still recording, right?
If so, that would be something for the wishes forum.

If VDJ didn't save the file correctly or give a warning message (about the recording) before closing, then I would say that's a bug and should be mentioned to Atomix.
It's poor form for software to close when it's still doing something, ending up in an unusable file.

I agree, but if it's by design, it is not a bug.

Just tried it here, but unable to reproduce.
1. Loaded a file
2. Select wav as the recording file format
3. hit record
4. start track
5. stop track ----> still recording
6. closed VirtualDJ ---> while recording
7. lauchned VDj again
8. checked file --- > all good
tried abord VDj recording while track already stopped/ or still playing
recorded as mp3 or wav.
all files where stored during shutdown and were playable after relaunch of V8

If it's a wav, you can probably open it as 'raw' file in an audio editing program like audacity. Format will be 16-bit stereo, probably 44khz

I seemed to partly fix it with audacity, but VDJ tries to load the whole very long file. And as it turns out, the problem isn't occurring just when I close VDJ wóut stop recording first. About every second or third file I record is not working properly. I think I will re d/l VDJ, and see if that fixes it.

The other thing I noticed, is that all the corrupt files are over 3hrs long.
