Topic: DDJ-SB2 pads register as hit twice (Occasionally) - Page: 1

This part of topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information

I have a new DDJ-SB2 and occasionally the pads play/pause and hotcue 1 (Not sure about other pads since I use those very little anyhow) register a double click. I don't think the pads double click but the song either stutters on the hotcue or the play/pause will not pause but play again with a very brief stutter (Or will pause again from play).

It usually happens after I have loaded a new track to a deck. I can't seem to repeat it after that. It happens on both decks.

Faulty controller, Windows 10 driver issue or VDJ issue? Using V8 2522b

Are you able to tell it isn't you who is triggering the pad twice? Because they are very sensitive.

maybe its only happens while vdj is scanning the new track?
best to wait till that's done before playing it.

also u might do a firmware update on the controller. even though its new it may have sat on a shelve for months.

Not seeing any new FW for the SB2 yet. But yeah you might be right on the scanning. I do tend to jump the gun on tracks I load. Will test that and get back to you.

This happens to me too. Pioneer DDJ-SX2. The pads on the Roll work when they want. Most never work. This is a new problem. Noticed on Friday for the first time. The only change it the build/version of VDJ8.

Are you guys running the latest firmware for the SB2/SX2 I had this problem a year ago when the SX2 was originally released, however the latest firmware fixed it for me.

Since then, I haven't seen this problem at all. (The reason why I knew it wasn't VDJ, it the double hit would occasionally appear in Serato as well.)

My problem is since the last update as well. It's not the firmware.

Well go back to a previous build and see if the problem still exists

Me too. Haven't changed a thing. Accepted the update last week and the next time I used Virtual it's been buggy.

Guys, i have sent you a mapping test file via PM.
Please check and report back.
You need to put that mapping file into the /Mappers folder and then open VirtualDJ and select it from Settings->Controllers tab (so not the factory default this time, the other one ;) )
Thanks

You won't know if it's a bug notably regression if you haven't tried it on earlier builds

Thanks for the feedback.
I can see big difference here with the SB and SR here too.
Mappings for DDJ-SB, DDJ-SB2, DDJ-SR and DDJ-SX2 will have these updates in next software release.

Is this a problem if you are using a custom mapping or is it default only?

Posted Sat 14 Nov 15 @ 2:07 pm
DJ, I've used the pads for several months. The only thing different is that I updated.

Can you tell me what you changed in the XML so I can add it to my own custom map file? Thanks.
