Topic: Evil test of VDJ 8 last night

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

I still use both V7 and v8. V7 is for when stability is the most import part (like a wedding), and V8 for when a crash wouldn't ruin the night.
Of course I want to move on to only using V8 eventually, since that is the future (more options, better sound, modern controllers and so on)

Last night we had a "Friday bar party" at the company I work for. It started at 4.30. and the music for most of the day/night would be background only. Most people would go home around 6.30-7.00. But I knew that for the last 12-15 co-workers attending (young, heavy drinkers, starting up a night out in the city) it would go on longer and be crazier - and louder if possible. So I brought decent speakers and a DJ-setup: Reloop Terminal Mix 4 and VDJ8-b2441 with the Controller by DennYo skin in 4 deck mode.

And then the important part: When things got crazy I let 4-5 of the co-workers be DJ's. Not in any controlled order, but in pure anarchy mode.
I only gave them a couple of hints like "play at least 2 minutes of each song" and "swap decks between each song instead of using the same" and "this is how you search for a song and load it".

And it actually didn't go horribly wrong. The mixing was of, of course, but the song selection was good, and the music kept playing without much dead air for about 4h

They were all over the controller, and tried everything - and the TM4 has a LOT of buttons you can try :). A few times I had to help disable things because they couldn't figure out what was happening due to tons of stuff being enabled at the same time

The best part: VirtualDJ v8 just took it.
It did everything it was told to do - in rapid order by someone who didn't know what they were doing
No hick-ups at all

So I guess I threw an evil test at V8 last night - and it passed with flying colors :)
