Something I looked into earlier in the week was the "Virtual DJ Sound" that people sometimes complain about in comparison to other software.
Coming from Traktor (and still using my Kontrol Z2 Mixer) I had noticed a difference in the way EQ worked when using VDJ until I remembered that my mixer settings in Traktor were configured to emulate a Pioneer DJM800 Mixer.
After doing some research I came across the following information which can be applied within the advanced settings in VDJ8 to emulate some of the more popular mixing profiles based on industry standard hardware mixers.
Pioneer DJM Low: 70hz
Pioneer DJM Mid: 1000hz
Pioneer DJM High: 13000hz
Xone X:42 Low: 420hz
Xone X:42 Mid: 1200hz
Xone X:42 High: 2700hz
Xone X:4D Low: 120hz
Xone X:4D Mid: 1400hz
Xone X:4D High: 10000hz
Rane Low: 300hz
Rane Mid: 1200hz
Rane High: 4000hz
