Topic: External sleep mode

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Trying to get the external drive (E) to stop going into sleep mode.
I have gone into device manager, root hub, power management.
Nothing is checked so the sleep mode should be off.
Still sleep in sleep mode.
Any suggestions please?

There should be utility software for the drive that should have a selection to disable sleep mode.
 
Often the power management is integrated on the hhd´s chipset. So any settings you make in the device manager will not take affect.
Try a tool like noSleepHD:

Did not find a disable mode on the drive. WIll give the program a try.
