Topic: Unbalanced Sound - NS6 - VDJ 8

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

I need help. I'm using the NSJ controller with VDJ8. I have the "auto-gain" button activated but my sound on the right side comes out low and distorted. Whether I have the sound coming out of my speakers or just listening through my headphones. I have adjusted the gain manually but I have the same problems. Does anyone else have this problem? Any solutions? Thank you in advance.

You're lonely.

Make sure you have good music.
If possible a mono track.
Use Audacity if necessary.
Cut and paste the My Documents Virtualdj folder on the Desktop, then start VDJ, play the good mp3 on both decks and compare.
If it still sounds bad return the VDJ folder.
That rules out any settings problems.
Try reversing the channels and see if the distortion / low volume moves to the left channel.
This can be done in the audio control panel, though you will have to use the advanced settings.
Uninstall VDJ but leave the settings untouched, and then reinstall, or just run repair.
Try a different controller or just use the onboard soundcard with no controller attached.
What your doing is eliminating possible causes.

Keep your fingers crossed.
You do not want a controller soundcard problem.
Uninstall the controller drivers, and then reinstall.
Maybe upgrading the firmware will help.

Anyway you can see the way I'd go about solving your problem.
