The below mapping is good for use with cdj's, vinyl, and older controllers with few features.
It is only a day old, your help to make it good would please me.
If you don't understand it ask me a question.
Let's use the Linux approach and help one another.

On the right hand side we have the hot cue pads, loop pads, and effects controls.
The 8 hot cue points and the loops, 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, halve, double, and exit do not have led confirmation to the standard I desire.
Help if you can !

Effects are controlled in a similar manner to an mc6000, and use the 4 faders on the right, although the end fader controls the sampler master volume.
The buttons directly above these effect faders assist in effect usage, again like the mc6000. Since I've only used 4 faders to control the effects including a dedicated filter fader with an on/off button above, I needed to use them to control both sides. Hence the buttons 'pan' and 'send' switch master decks enabling the effect controls to be used on either side.

The left hand side is dedicated to the sampler and uses 32 pads, plus the 4 group volume faders below.

It's looking ok, but I might have made mistakes.

Ok for starters most people are to lazy to copy and paste this code or even have the know how to make it into an actul XML file. So as of now it's pretty unuseable.

Upload it to the proper place and go from there. Then people people can actually try it out.

If you really want 16 hot cues per side I can convert the loops into hot cues easily.
God knows what you will do with so many hotcues LOL

wrong thread bro? (did I posted on this one? no I could'nt ,this is new... confusing...) I was refering to my Numark NV which has 8 pads of course. but yeah in breakbeat techno? lots of breaks...

Tracker If you want 16 hot cues per side get this sub controller.
It will also look after your samples.
It's cheap, and in my opinion it's better than the SP1, or Neon.

It's finished.
I've fixed the LED's.
I'll test it over the weekend, and also wait to see if any good ideas appear, and finally submit it next week.
I think I know where it goes now.

If the vdj staff could check it, and include it as a native option that would be great?
It would save me having to submit it.
It's really a staff mapping anyway, they did the definition file.
Due to the large number of buttons on the Akai this mapping has many big advantages over the current mapping which is totally dedicated to the sampler. Besides all else it looks good !

The cue points, loops, and samples worked well.
I had trouble with the effects, deck selection never worked properly.
The other thing about the effects is that there fiddly.
I think something simpler, and more straight forward would be better????
Less effects in fact, but simpler to use as a consequence, maybe I don't like the way effects are done on the mc6000?

Instead of using a knob or slider we can just specify an effect on a button.
The parameters will still be varied using the faders.

not to derail this bro but...I have a numark NV right? okay I've been working on my music and not much with the dj,only hooking up the nv to add hot cues and BPM's and fixing tittles on new tech house tracks to mix later.well I realize that my sampler defaults to the second row of samples and not the first.how do I fix this? or how to assign a samples to a particular
pad on the NV controller?
edit: without messing the native map for the NV? I'm actually wondering if the dev team have the native map on this correct because I havent remapped anything.

Change the sampler view from grid to row mode, and then just move one sample (drag & drop), all the samples will now move to their proper grid default positions starting at pad 1. It's odd how that happens.

You can, if you wish, instead of using a number, for example pad 1, name the sample, and assign it to a any unused pad, or button.

The classic karaokeman/dj helpful sample is "applause".
I often use it to get applause for a singer, but there are many applications.
Use it at background volume to encourage, and support people.

Nice to see other guys mapping the APC mini.
I'm using this dude exclusiely for sampler operation nowadays, earlier I also had it for FX control.
Great little unit!

@ BigRon1: yeah doing that but the NV still neglects the first row? wierd.I've looked everywhere,the manual (vdj version ) and here...think I'll open a thread...

@Fred, you have to open the sampler XML and edit the row numbers.

Thought this was fixed awhile ago but I see it's not. There's a thread in the 8 bug forum about this somewhere.
