Topic: sorry to have to say this

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

i use vdj 8 at home to just jam with all kinds of tracks and tempo`s, i use it very basically to just mix tracks together like i did on my old technics 1210`s. my friend has vdj 7 and i loved it for its user friendlyness of playing with a fresh memory stick and setting beatgrid cue points whilst mixing, i loved the bpm feature and i could see the basic waveform clearly to mix some tricky tunes together that just wouldnt sync right even with the bpm feature. now with vdj8 you cant just tap on the bpm anymore to set beatgrid whilst mixing 2 tracks together and i find the standard basic waveform at the top is blurry and i cant see it clearly to manually match different level of spikes if the songs dont sync with the bpm button. these two things were the reason i bought vdj8. so ive spent money with you guys because of the success of vdj7 and you have changed 2 main features that i bought it for. I`ve talked to other friends who have tried vdj 8 and say they dont like it either, still using vdj7. Why change something that worked well for so many. I feel ive wasted alot of money with a product i dont use. very unsatisfied customer who used to promote virtual dj to people interested int starting djing, but now i cant anymore.

There is a tap button that enables you to set the beatgrid by tapping.

It's not blurry on any of my systems - are you using the default skin? What waveform mode are you using?

You can use VDJ8 without paying to find out if it suits your requirements before purchasing.

Due to the addition of artwork on the default 2 deck skin the wave window has been reduce in length. Bad !
It makes it harder to DJ.
Anyway other skins, and settings do get around this problem.
For instance DJdads latest skin uses the full width of your screen.
Artwork is relegated below the waves.

The default 4 deck skin is better.
However I don't use the 3 and 4 decks for mixing, I use them for scratch samples.
Hence I only need mini decks.

You must have guessed that I don't often use the default skins.

A lot of DJ's love to slag off the wave displays, however a visual representation greatly enhances your ears.

Note : In defense of the default skins they offer a functionality which all the others cannot rival. So I occasionally drop back to the defaults to access some little used feature of the software.

i still can not adjust the beat grid blocks under waveform by just tapping, if i multiple tap it completly changes the beats per minute then it defaults back about a second later.

The tap button doesn't always work unless I stop the track.......

it will only change beatgrid if i pause song.

yeah mine doesnt work at all

just been trying where you tap about 6 times really fast then single tap slowly once it starts moving but the blocks is going all over the place . no likey. doesnt work for me. why not just keep the single tap?

just one more question. why does the flanger effect now sound lame?
