Topic: Bluetooth speaker delay

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Hello,
Wanted to ask if anyone could help meet out!
I am using Virtual DJ8.
Ive got my headphones plugged in and I am using bluetooth speakers for the main output.
All works great except for one annoying use:
There is a 0.5s delay on the sounds that come from the bluetooth speaker.
Just means its very distracting trying to work with both headphone and speaker as they are always slightly out of sync.
Does anyone know a way to fix this?
Perhaps a way to delay the output that comes through the headphones?
Im not sure!
Any suggestions much appreciated!
Thanks!!

Without meaning to sound rude - don't use Bluetooth speakers.

Anything that runs wireless is open to some sort of delay.
You are much better off running with cabled speakers in order to lose the delay.

Anything that uses bluetooth for transmitting sound has a delay of some sort

I think the answers you have gotten above are right.
Delay is sort of "build into" the bluetooth standard. It normally works fine that way, because it doesn't matter for most use - like if you use a speaker to play music from a playlist on your phone .
It wont help you to delay the headphones, because then it will be out of sync with the what you are doing in the software using a controller or the keyboard, which will be even worse
So if your speakers also has cable inputs that's the way to go
If not you probably need new speakers

if you for some reason can't use wired speakers, you can also cue/mix all in the headphone or add a delay to the headphone output, but it can't be done inside virtual dj.

The only thing I can think of other than not using BT, is noise cancelling phones.
