hi all
i have a question
why do i feel that virtual dj sound quality is lower than lets say serato
as i have ddj sz and i tried both of them and it feels that serato is higher in volume and clearer
is it something i didn't do in settings
or is it from the asio driver
or the ddj sz soundcard
plz help

I wonder if your hitting the limiter in VDJ?
Are you using version 8?
What is your auto gain setting?
What is your zerodb setting?

i think vdj is hitting the vu on reds most of the time even thou my cpu usage is very low
i use vdj 8
pioneer ddj sz
hp intel i7
8gb rams
1 tera hdd
autogain set to no
gainslider includes autogain set to yes

Set the auto gain to auto and reanalyze your library.
I have my zerodb set to 0.7 which is about -6 db. I have some dynamic music in my collection so I want a little more headroom.
-3db seems to work for most people.
Watch to see if the limiters kick in in the decks. Also watch the master limited to see how it does with two song mixed together.

In the digital realm, 0db is a hard clip. There is no give. My analog equipment can go +16 db without clipping. That may help to understand why the limiters are in place.

if i reanalyze my library I will lose my cue points that I set before as I set them with hot cues in ddj sz and each song have not less than 6 hot cues
is there any other way to do so I mean an easier way

reanalyzing will not clear your cue points it only will reset CBG and the Gain for the tracks

change the settings before reanalyzing

You can also back up your database(s) to be safe.
But, Wickedmix is correct, I have never lost cue points.
To be clear, you are not erasing your database and starting over, you are just reanalyzing tracks.

Serato is a better sounding product... I have both loaded and in an A and B comparison Serato does sound better... Virtual DJ 8 is compatible with more file formats and comes with video... In terms of sound quality Serato is #1 Traktor is #2 and Virtual DJ is #3... I use Virtual 99.9% of the time. I never use Serato at my gigs. Sometimes features are better than the best quality...

Can someone tell me where the AutoGain level setting is please? I have sounds issues when autogain is set to 0db, but if I manually set the gain on each track to -6 or -7db it sounds much better.
