Topic: High CPU usage when using AUTOMIX EDITOR in VDJ8

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Whenever I go to use the automix editor in VDJ8, I notice a high CPU spike using the editor. Sometimes I see the spike just as the window is opened and at other times, it occurs when I use the slider to move down the list of queued up songs. Is there anything that can be done to minimize this? The laptop I'm using is a i7 core with 8gig memory.

Do you have the overClock option on, this should help.

My overclock is set to YES

Is this typical behavior where the cpu gets pegged in the red for a bit?

Does it actually cause audio drop outs? If it doesn't, why worry, I imagine drawing those waveforms is pretty processor intensive.

Every now and then the system will lock up but things will still play and then it will come back .. I used to use my drum machine to play along when 8 first came out but after all of the upgrades from both VDJ8 and Maschine 2, if I go into editor I will loose audio. So I don't use my drum machine anymore.. And I'd like to again.
