Topic: MEP 7000 - Asio Error

I have been using my MEP 7000 with VDJ up to recently with no problems. Now everytime I start VDJ I get this error:
Error in the ASIO sound driver: Your soundcard is probably not connected

My MEP is connected via usb to laptop. My config is:
Inputs: None
Outputs: External Mixer
Sound Card: MEP 7000

If I load a track in a deck on VDJ, it displays the details in the corresponding browser window, but the Cue and Play buttons don't work.

I've tried restarting VDJ using each USB port in case it has to be the same one everytime, but nothing works, I keep getting the ASIO error.
I also uninstalled and re-installed VDJ but, again, same result.

Is there any other config I need to try? Or do I need to re-install drivers or something? I don't think I do because, as I said the track details display OK in the MEP browser window so it is communicating OK with VDJ, just can't play music.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Please make sure that Windows are not using MEP as their default playback/communication device.
9 times out of 10 this solves the issue.
To do so, go to control panel and click on sound icon.
If MEP has any green symbol/icon on it right click on your laptop's soundcard and select "Use as default Playback device" / "Use as default Communication device"

Thanks for suggestion.

I went to Sound but it is only Speakers (realtek) with MEP not listed so I don't think it's that.
I also re-installed MEP firmware but no dice
