How do I get VDJ 8's pitch lock to work like it did in VDJ7?

Screw it. I'm going back to vdj7 for the fourth time. I just can't seem to get around all the problems I have with VDJ8. Pitch lock doesn't work like it used too. The loops don't work like they used to. Milkdrop stops working after switching between video and music a few times. The browser sort method was better and faster for me in VDJ7 and there's no easy fix to make it work like it used to. The mapper is funky and I haven't had much luck with it. The SBDJ Freestyler plugin doesn't do what I need it too anymore. All in all the only improvement I've actually enjoyed was the sound quality. I can do with out all the other features even though I like some of them. VDJ8 has too many fixes for things that weren't broken.

oops. Was logged in under my step bros account.

Pitch Lock - ie both pitch sliders moving at the same time by the same amount works identically in v8 to how it did in v7. Perhaps you mean a different feature.

What is different in v8 with regards to loops that you are having a problem with?

Milkdrop, please ensure your DX9 runtimes are completely up to date. Alternatively use another visualisation such as slideshow (which handles video and pictures) or Sonique.

The v8 FreeStyler plugin does the same as it used to, albeit it with macro commands rather than cue points (far less intensive).

I get a warble sound on the opposite deck as soon as I touch the platter, as if it's on beat lock and not pitch lock. I'm using the ns7 II and this isn't an issue in VDJ7

Used to be able to set a loop and reverse back to any other point in the song let go of the platter and it would play until it hit that section then start looping. Now if I set a loop and try to pull back on the platter, the loop takes over and I'm stuck in it. This is a big issue when I want to scratch drop a song in time, and want to the song on release to be a looped portion.

Milkdrop is awesome and I really appreciate your efforts to bring it to VDJ. It's so much of a better visualization, that I would prefer to use 7 then go without it in VDJ 8.

Freestyler in 8 only sends one command per point. When using freestyler, I need to completely kill the previous scene then select a new one in order for it to stop the previously used fixtures I no longer want active. This requires several commands to do, not to mention if I want to send select a cuelist button and fade up.

I completely wiped my laptop and put a clean version of Windows 7 on it. Did all the standard tweaks for performance and downloaded all of the recommend runtimes and whatnot. I had hoped this would fix the issue with the screen going blank, but it didn't. When VDJ 8 came out the video worked flawlessly, but I was having issues with my cached songs, so I went back to 7. Somewhere an update to VDJ 8 has broken this functionality on my laptop.

If it was just anyone of the issues, I'd prob just put up with it. It's too many issues to screw with, when I'm trying to do a show.

You only get this sound with pitch_lock enabled?

I assume you only want to back out of the loop whilst not playing, right?

Not much I can say on that front. I've still been completely unable to replicate the issue. Please please please ensure you have run this and let it install:

Yes, this is one limitation of the new method my plugin uses, and a new version of the plugin will add macro commands to work around this in the future.

When LoopAutoMove setting is set to Yes (default value), the loop will always jump to the playing position (if songpos is used or any Cue button)
When LoopAutoMove setting is set to No, the loop will not jump to the current position (will stay in the position you have set it) if the position you jump is prior the LoopIn point and the loop will be disabled if you jump to a position later to the Loop Out position.

About the beatlock issue.
Apparently there is no "touch" for the motorwheels, so the software still interprets and tries to "match" the 2 decks if beatlock is enabled. Normally (on a touch-sensitive platter), the beatlock is engaged once the "touch" is released.

PS. I edited the title to Beatlock to avoid confusion.

Yes. It's like it's trying to beatlock. I also had a bit of an issue getting it to toggle off.

I'll try 8 again and direct x install after you finish the new build of the Freestyler Plugin.

You said that in another thread. I'm guessing your extra busy with all of the other great work you do. I'm looking forward to the new version. As of now though it just doesn't do what I need it to.

Thanks for all the help guys. Really want to use 8 once I can get it working like I need it to.

I have no idea how to get those quotes working right either. Over tired on my end.

It's pitch lock not beat lock. I just want both decks to have the pitch move at the same time, I don't want it to beat lock. I don't want vdj to decide if the beats are where they should be. I do that myself. I use pitch lock to do extreme tempo transitions.

Ok probably miss-read your post. Thread's title back to PitchLock. Also edited your post with incorrect quotes code.
