Topic: Stanton SCS.4DJ mixstation question

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Hi,

I'm new to DJing and just bought a Stanton SCS.4DJ mixstation to use as a MIDI controller to connect with my laptop. It appears that everything connects fine except for the fact I'm not getting any sound through the speakers. Why is that and how do I resolve the issue?

Thanks for the link. So what do you suggest I get, equipment-wise (i.e. mixer, amplifier, etc.) to use to do small events? I was hoping the have the actual feel of mixing and scratching with a controller connected to my laptop?

The main idea of the SCS.4DJ is that you can use it without a computer.

That's why it has its own screen, a drive compartment underneath and a built in CPU and operating system.

When it first came out, there wasn't even any librarian software for analysing tracks on your computer before using them. It all had to be done on the SCS.4DJ - slowly!

It's not a bad bit of kit, just that it's not primarily a controller.

Equipment - what's your budget and what do you consider a small event (number of people)?
