Topic: Best way to install vdj 8???

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

I have vdj 7.4 on my laptop and I now want to install version 8 on it also. What is the best way to install it? Is it better to move the existing 7.4 settings which are stored in 'my documents' to a different location so that when I install vdj 8 only the new settings will be in 'my documents'?? I hope what I've said makes sense!

You can leave all the VDJ 7 files where they are in the folder.

Installing VDJ 8 won't disturb anything, and it requires some files to be there so it can import your setup & database.

Thanks groovindj! I have 7.4 and 8 on my home PC and I installed them normally, without creating new folders, and it works fine. I'm just worried about putting it on my djing laptop as that's what I use to do dj to the public. 7.4 is very solid for me and i have great confidence when I use it. I guess it's just time for me to finally bite the bullet and install vdj 8 alongside 7.4 on my laptop!

Just make sure you give things a good run through before going live with it.
