i have a Mac with vdj8 and the DDJ-SX every time i load a song i have to turn the trim all the way up then down b4 it will work right why is that

If I disable soft take over will it mess with anything else or should I just leave it alone

You can disable it from the Options (ControllerTakeOverMode to Instant or Gradual), but i would strongly recommend you not to. It could cause sudden changes to Volume, EQ etc.
