The default mapping files for the American Audio VMS4/VMS4.1 have been updated.
The changes are available to builds ending at .790 (or higher). To get the latest controllers version (the last 3 numbers of the software build), launch VirtualDJ, let it run idle for a couple of minutes (depending on your Internet connection speed) and re-launch.

The unit now offers 2 mapping files (the factory default and an alternative Browser mode mapping), so in the CONTROLLERS tab you will now get 2 mapping files and you can choose which one you wish to use.

The factory default mapping has been slightly changed (minor changes to the Loop section, corrections to the X-Fader CH Assign switchers etc)

The alternative Browser mode mapping has 2 major changes.
1. The Touchstrips are now un-assigned (not proved the best option to navigate through files and folders, and could create issues as those are very close to the jogwheels). The Browser control is now handled by an additional mode we added to the Sampler section (press SHIFT and then push the SAMPLER SELECT encoder)
2. The Decks swap now using the PitchBend buttons (SHIFT+PITCHBEND still work as Pitch bends). We have made this change basically because the SHIFT+PAUSE action could accidentally stop the playing deck instead of swapping the decks (and already several users have defined those buttons like this)

The functionality of both mapping files is explained in the ver8 manual of the unit .. http://www.virtualdj.com/documents/American%20Audio%20VMS4%20-%20VirtualDJ%208%20Operation%20Guide.pdf (also offered from the Info button in the CONTROLLERS tab)

PS. There is still something that we need to verify with American Audio (about the Midilog channel pre-defined order), but other than that, the manual should explain it well enough.

Let us know of any issues/questions.

I am not getting my Midilog gains to control audio-they are turning on the screen but not affecting volume levels.

So when the GAIN knobs are all the way to the left (0%), you still get sound from that deck/Midilog on Master ??

How can we get the touchstrips back?

The Touchstrips still work the same way they did, if you select the default mapping instead of the additional Browser mode.
