I'm new to DJ'ing but I think its a blast to do at home! I'm looking for an inexpensive controller (under $250 ish) that works with Virtual DJ 7 (Broadcaster edition).
The one I'm looking at right now is Hercules DJ Console MK2. I like to mix electronic music and main stream pop songs. Dubstep, DrumStep, some video game electro mixes as well. I'd like to have some programmable buttons for the samples I have loaded in virtual DJ but not a must as I can use the keyboard to trigger samples. Any suggestions?
My main goal would to have the basic controls at my finger tip to make transiting, sampling and such easier. Again total beginner. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Broadcaster does not support controllers. You need the possibly included LE with the controller, which can't broadcast, or buy the full version.
The subscription for VDJ only gives acces to VDJ8, so no option for you if you want to use VDJ7.
For the budget you have, I would look at Numark MixTrack 2 PRo, Pioneer DDJ-SB or similar 2 channel controllers with a soundcard.
