I can see how to access Essential Visuals in VDJ 8, but how do I apply my selection to the output screen?
Also, I can't see a Key Change effect in the Audio Effects for karaoke.
Thank you.

You shouldn't have even been using the Key Change effect in 7 IMHO, it sounds waaay worse than the native one. In 8, click the little arrows next to the key display on the deck and a panel will open by the jogwheel containing key controls.

Thanks for the reply. I agree, it's not a great Key Change. For my own songs that require a key change I process them in Adobe Audition using the Izotope Radius algorithm, which is flawless. For other singers, I can never tell who is going to ask for a key change, and so that's when I used the Key Change effect, it's accurate to access in a hurry :).
I use the 4 Deck skin for both DJ and Karaoke, ( I have a lot of custom made videos that I use on decks 3 and 4) and so that key facility doesn't show. I had a look at that control on the 2 deck mode, it's a tiny font! lol. So a half tone down is 01A, 2 half tones down is 06A? Anyway, no use to me in 4 Deck mode, unless I can access a skin that shows it.
Can I add a Key Change effect to the SoundEffect pulldown menu? I see that the SBDJ StereoChannel effect that I have as a plugin shows in the SoundEffect menu.
Could I assign the key panel to a custom button?

the harmonics are in line with the camelot mixing wheel (look it up) so yes from 1A (actual key G# minor/ A flat minor) down a key equals 6A (G minor)
You can click the A1 and it will show you the key instead, Also you can assign ' key_move +1 ' (or -1) to custom buttons.

I think what is shown as key info, (camelot, or actual key) should be be a preference in options

V8 isn't too bad with quality over key change for small variations =/- 3 keys

Excellent, thanks, that's really helpful.
I assigned the key move + and - to the custom buttons, so that makes it very convenient to change keys, thumbs up to the developers for custom buttons! Changes back from coloured to let you know when you're back on pitch. And you're right, it's a very good key change, so already I'm better off in V8 than in V7 :) .

Actually I took the plunge and used VDJ8 for the first time last night, a DJ/VJ gig, mostly retro, a Motown/Soul theme. I got a bit of a shock when songs loaded and changed pitch and I figured there was a setting I needed to change, but I was too busy to go look for it, (a lot of those songs are really short!). I MOSTLY remembered to double click the pitch % button, got a couple of surprises though. Even with beat mixing I prefer to adjust my tempo's manually so I fixed that this morning, (auto BPMmatch I presume). Anyway, all up I was really happy with VDJ 8, I think they've done a terrific job and there's obviously a lot more depth to explore.

Anyone help on the EssentialVisuals question? I still can't see how to apply the message to video output.
