I'm fixing up a 2008 Macbook Pro. Before it upped and died on me, it lagged opening various applications, probably heated up enough to cook an egg or something. I was wondering if anyone has experience with this specific model and VDJ. Would it be worthwhile to sell it and get a newer model (meaning 2010-2012)? I don't want to go all out and blow 2 grand on a brand new computer.

Always run smc fan control with Mac and Make sure to keep it cool. The early 2008 mbp had issues with with nvidea 8600 cards going bad. Hope yours isn't one of those
