I don't appear to have the sandbox icon on my player do I need to turn something on in the config?

What skin are you using?

Older (pre VDJ 8) skins won't have the icon.

Skins with more than two decks may not have the icon either - as it's designed primarily for two deck users, giving them a kind of "temporary deck 3 & 4".

If you have a four deck setup, Sandbox isn't really necessary as you can try stuff out on your existing decks.
 
Thanks Groovin - I use a mixture of the default VDJ8 2 deck and 4 deck skins - it makes sense what you say on a 4 deck skin though. But the Icon is not even appearing on the 2 deck skin either and I'm pretty sure the version is up to date or are the updates just relevant to the software not skins?
 
Are you using an external mixer config? Sandbox only works in master/headphone mode I think.

From the Manuel (sic):

Note. Sandbox will not operate in the following cases :
- You are using an External analogue mixer (Audio Setup is configured as an external mixer)
- You're already in the middle of a mix (more than one song is playing out on Master).
- You have effects, samples or loop playing on the "active" song.
- You're playing video tracks.
 
just had a look at the config and its set to Output - Speaker Only, Card - Internal Soundcard.

I changed the output to Speaker + Headphone to test it but still nothing showing?

its not a major issue to be honest !
