Hi! I'm planning on buying some form of VirtualDJ software. I'm not sure which I want, but I need software that I can use my controller and soundcard on, that I can play at gigs like school dances and parties, and something that's within my 100$ budget. Also, I wanted to ask what professional use means.
Thanks,
Alex

To use professionally you need the PRO version, that also has unlimited support for controllers and sound card/sound settings..
You can choose between getting Infinity as a one time purchase, or the monthly subscriber model .. .

If its not professional gigs, but private parties you do for free, you could also choose the controller version at same link.
This version is limited to one controller.

I'm just a hobbyist who mixes for fun and amusement, but so worth, of the budget provides, going all out for the full Pro version - simply because you're future proofing yourself.
Should your controller pack up, and you need a new one (or fancy upgrading to something a little jazzier), it'll work.
When a new version or update is released, its free.
Really, you cannot go wrong. Yeah, its expensive, but a one-time shell-out can't be knocked...
Mike.

yeah true, on a long term consideration, and if planning to do gigs and dj more professionally, the PRO Infinity is a good choice ;)
