Topic: Modifying the default skin?

I'm not a 'skinner', however I did want to change a few things on the default skin which skips with VDJ8. (Recut the buttons since they are blurry) and also change the color contrast in the song list. (The lighter grey is too light.)

I don't plan to release this (however I would give my changes back to Atomix if they wanted), so it was for me personally. Is there a way to simply modify aspects of the current skin?

Again, I'm not a skinner and I really didn't look into how this really works.

Thanks!

For someone who hasn't skinned before it will be a steep learning curve,

However changing the colors in the PNG image is relatively simple.
Open up one of the skin files and look - thats how most of us learnt. (back it up first though).

Actually, this looks pretty easy. I see that you are using a single .png 'texture map', and then positioning the assets on the screen using coordinates via the XML file. (I have a background in software development and model texturing, so this looks very familiar.)

Perhaps you can just tell me the group or class which controls the alternating background colors and hover color within the song list? (The rest I can figure out.)

Thanks!

djdad has just posted some XML code here that relates to browser colours.

Thanks! I'll have to look into that.
