Hey when I installed V8 I got duplicate files for my Content Unlimited audio subscription. So now I have 2 copies for most of my cache songs. I still have 7.4 on my laptop when I open it 7.4 only shows one file per song. Anyway to fix it besides deleting them individually.

Have you moved your cached files to a different folder than the default one ?
Do you see duplicates files inside the 'Downloaded Content' subfolder of the 'Content Unlimited' folder or in some special filter folder you have created or when you search for them ?

I have not moved the files, I do see the duplicates inside the downloaded content folder but they are no duplicates inside the root folder c:user/virtualdj/cache

Hey Folks,

I guess that as new updates are patched in the lists will duplicate per build.

Temporary fix... in case you haven't worked it out yet!!!

1.Close VDJ.

Move Files to temp location.
2.Open a file browser and go to you Cache Directory - Don't use MAC so not sure what path is.
Windows (typically):C:\Users\<username>\My Docments\Virtual DJ\Cache
3.Cut all cachefile and paste somewhere else (temporary move) i.e C:\Users\<username>\My Docments\Virtual DJ

Open VDJ and clear out files
4.Open VDJ8, goto Content Unlimited Downloads and delete all songs in list.
5.Close VDJ8

Put files back
6.Cut and Paste all cachefiles back to Cache DIR
7.Open VDJ8

Update Content Unlimited Downloads list
8.Go back to Content Unlimited Downloads
Files should appear back (non-duplicated) if not
8.1 Right mouse click on "Content unlimited Downloads"
8.2 Click recurs

Hope this helps some people

:)

I tried this workaround but it screwed up all my tags.

Any other workaround ?

I had duplicates mainly because I had copied my downloaded content into the wrong directory when syncing my backup and main laptops , and then of course it got added to the search DB, I simply moved my files to the correct folder, then cleaned up the database , everything was back to normal
