By upgrading from 7.4 to 8 will I lose my playlists and folders?

no you won´t. But Backup is still recommended....;-)
Remember, it is still a (public) Beta and not a final release....

where is the video clipboard..? in v8

Clipboard is now replaced by the sampler section.
The sampler is now able to host videofiles too.

I loaded some video clips into the sampler (can't put as many as you could in the previous clip bank, and I can't find a way to make them loop, like you could in the clip bank. Anyone know if there is an option for this?

Change the sampler layout to list view, then click the edit button (gear icon).

There's no way of switching them directly (from either mode/view) like there was in V7.

Whilst pressing CTRL on your keyboard, click the pad you want to change and select sample editor.

Is this another skin related issue (not having dedicated loop/one-shot buttons for each sample) or are we stuck with having to go to edit every time?

you can change trigger behavior on the fly .. this is global for all samples in the bank
if you want more advanced use where the samples within one bank does not have same behavior, you need to open the sample editor, and set to a group with its own behavior .

dj-in-norway... scrolling through these creates an audio glitch on my system when scrolling past "instruments".

able to reproduce every time.

(already reported on the other page but not sure if you saw it or not)

I'm talking about setting the sample to loop or play once - not the trigger mode. In VDJ 7 there was a circular button below each sample which you could access easily.

For a "dumb'ed down" simple sampler, more like v7 ish, you can just change the view..
And its pretty much like the v7 sampler, aligned vertically (instead of horizontal slots in v7).
There you can easily adjust the volume on the fly, loop length, change mode to one-shot/loop etc..
as well as play the samples much like in v7's "play" button (in v8 its a square with the icon of the sample)

Yes, I know about the list view - but you still cannot change the playback mode between loop & drop without going to the edit page of each sample.

In 7 the button was right there with the play buttons, volume faders etc. and you could easily change from drop to loop and back.

yeah.-. well .. still just a button to change ;) called "edit" now ;)
while its not EXACTLY same as v7, it sure is easy to use and change modes for a sample ;)

maybe we can add drop down right inside the browser field ( loop <> drop) just as you can change loop size directly in browser area.
But that aside, its still super easy and fast to change the mode ;)
