Topic: Transfer ownership

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

I am more less a bedroom Dj and have been using home addition and have bought a DDJ SB but I hate Serato. My question is do people sell / transfer ownership of their licensed copy of VDJ? I know there tons of people selling used equipment but what about the software? Or what is the best way besides buying it out right to get the Pro version? I was looking at getting an American Audio mixer and upgrading the software. Just looking at the best bang for my buck... Thanks in advance

VirtualDJ serial numbers are non-transferable and cannot be sold, given or transferred to another user. Doing so is a violation of the End User License Agreement (EULA).

This is not allowed as far as i know. Many people have been caught out that way, IE buying from Ebay etc

A license is not a device like a soundcard. To own a license means to make a contract between you as a human and Atomix as license holder.

It's like the contract for your apartement - you can not sell it on eBay and the one who buys it will not be allowed to live there just because you sell him your contract - this is just not possible. :-)

Mike, the only way to get the software is through the website. Have you downloaded the HomeFree version and had a play around with that. You can activate the Pro features within the software for 10minutes at a time. Resetting after a software restart.

In terms of the American Audio Mixers - the MXR10, MXR14 and MXR19 all come with VirtualDJLE which as a 'bedroom dj' will more than surfice, i would think, for what you need.

American audio also do midi controllers the VMS2 and VMS4 also come bundled with VirtualDJLE.

(VirtualDJLE - is a Limited Edition version of the software designed to work exclusively with the product it is bundled with. It is not quite the same as Pro - but if you are only using that controller then it shouldn't be an issue for you,)

It all comes down to budget and what you want to achieve.

As has already been pointed out, transferring of licenses is not possible. But here above are a couple of options for you.
