I have the DDJ-SX Pioneer... when I try to use the jog wheels to start a song by back queing and then release the jog wheel on the downbeat to mix in the song.... when I release the jog wheel it hesitates a split second resulting in the song not able to synce right.

That's just the normal behaviour if you are backcueing/ backspinning.
Just give it a little forward push and there is no stopping.
