There are similarities to the PCDJ red debacle, but at least VDJ7 works.
I had the PCDJ red beta as the previous version wouldn't work with Windows 2000. It wouldn't accept my licence code when I turned up at a gig and I got sacked. I still remember the irate phone call to Ryan Sherr at 3am in the morning.
Happy days!

Haha, great teaser video! It must be getting close! Is anyone recording one of these sessions so we can all see it at some point?

I used all the PCDJ products from the original Red (which was good for it's time) with a DMC-01 MIDI Controller in 2002 onwards, Original Blue, Original Red, New Red, VRM FX and finally in 2006 I think it was I bought their PCDJ VJ video program. Still got them all. God knows how much I spent on all of them, but, PCDJ VJ was so buggy it was almost unusable. When I compared the program file to the original PCDJ it was twice the size. They had it in a container called Softwrap because they were paranoid about piracy. Caused more bugs and poor response than ever. That's when I bought VirtualDJ and have been here ever since and not going anywhere else anytime soon. :-)

I was at the same seminar. He's telling the truth, it's really good! Now, if they can only release it........

If the timecode is not equal or better to others...it will never be as good as those that have spot on timecode....but that group of users are small so i guess this might not matter...so you controller guys will be happy..but ill still be using different software for different task....but i bet ill love it on my vci400 but 1200s will be on mixvibes

What ever works for you, is the only way to go. I could drive the Honda Odyssey, because it's the highest rated minivan. However, it does not have seats that fold into the floor. So, I drive a Chrysler Town and Country, because it does. It works for me.

@Paul: I've heard nothing so far if the Firetext plugin will work with VDJ8?

I don't know about you, but would not spend almost $40,000 on a van, because some salesman told me about a feature. I may not be too bright, but something told me to go to the dealership, and look at the van. I was even able to test drive it. I put a lot of research into it, before I gave them my money. Come to think of it, I did the exact same thing, before I bought VDJ. I saw the Pioneer DVD system, and thought WOW, video is my next option. But the idea of searching through DVD, did not go over with me, and the cost of that setup, was a little prohibitive. The next year, all the software companies were talking about video. I went to the convention, and tried every one of them. Everyone had a story, but the bottom line was, I mixed a video with virtual DJ, went into my pocket, and gave Jason my money. I had a choice, I did the research, and made a decision. This is how I make ALL of my decisions, not just when it comes to DJ equipment. Have I made hasty decisions in my life? Yes, and I have also learned from them. I like to measure twice, and cut once. I heard that somewhere. It is not up to me, to say if you made the right decision or not, that is up to you.

Well i guess the mod has told me VDJ was a mistake if timecode meant alot to me...and i was stupid for believing the people in the forum when they said the timecode was on point....i wasnt able to test virtual dj timecode until i paid for it cause nobody had it...with a controller im satisfied...i just didnt want to have to still buy another software for when i use 1200s...and with all these effects and so customizeable how could the timecode could not be just as good....only vids i could look at at the time was...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2O8Ig4VXxB4...which made like yea...and with some cuts yea good...but when i started spinning the record...adjust the pitch for the off pitch runbacks...boom it went haywire...for the mobile dj with controller/HID great software but for timecode no...
...but as the mod says thats my mistake live with it..okay ya feel that way.....DIYM

I'm sorry DJratedxxx919, you thought my reply above, was about you. Nooooooooo, it was an answer to the question you asked me; "what if you were told that the seats folded into the floor but after you purchased it you found out it was not true?". I thought I answered it very clearly. I pointed out to you, the way I do things, and it has nothing to do with you. Actually, I thought I made that clear, in the last sentence, "It is not up to me, to say if you made the right decision or not, that is up to you". Where in my post, do I say you made a mistake, or was stupid?
