and only could have one dj controller with you, which one would it be. (Need a little help as I'm upgrading. Think value, not simply most expensive)

Without requirements it would be impossible for anyone to know what would even come close to suiting you.

OK I'll put it this way. I use a DAC-3 now with a mixing board and a rack mount computer. Going to a laptop and a controller. Mobile dj. All types of music. No need to scratch other than for fun. That help?

Normally, I would say something along the lines of "Which you would lose shortly". But, since it's you were talking about. it's too late to lose your mind. It's lost... ;-)

mark I mod I controller is your brain.
yeah I lost my mind back when I first touched a radio dial and let a beat and a rhythm take me to worlds unknown and opened new horizons. no controller will every replace or duplicate that which goes on in my head. besides which, if stranded on an island will I have electricity? cause unless the Professor is there with Gilligan to make electricity from two coconuts, a shiny rock, three seashells, and that radio, then a controller is gonna be useless.

a mixing board
Which one?
I assume your desire to upgrade means you're looking for something better than what you currently have - so what connectivity do you need? How many inputs, and of what type? Are there any mixer features you just can't do without?
There are hundreds of different controllers out there, all with different feaure sets. It's hard to choose one for you without knowing your requirements.

Loose the Rackmount computer and depending on what mixer you have I would say you have pretty much the best system for what your doing.
Apart from the SZ their all pretty crap still and I wouldn't see any of them as an upgrade to the Dac 3 and a separate mixer.
