Topic: QSC K12 Speakers

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Made the plunge purchased a pair of these speakers. When I used to use amp and passive speakers my amp of choice was QSC because of the clean
Power it delivered. Same is true of these speakers as I listened to them at the guitar center. Comparing them to the speakers I currently use, there was no comparison. With the base boost you could feel the base in your mid section at about 30' with clean sound. A might pricey but I hope worth it.
Will use for 1st time tomorrow night.

Are you using them with a sub? I had QSC K-12's as well, I ended up selling them and getting the Yamaha DXR15's. I really liked the QSC's, but decided to go with the 15's to get a little more low end punch since I'm not bringing a sub for most of my gigs now.

Let us know how you like them.

Do not use subs just never have needed massive base for what I do. I can get what I need from settings on speaker or by adding more base from the controller. Ksc does have subs that can be used with these tops. If I was playing the Beat mix stuff to the 20 & 30 year old I would probably have purchase subs years ago. I am currently using eon jbl 15" (the older ones). This has been my setup for the past 15 yrs

i use K12's with and without subs. they are my favorite speaker cabinets

Depends on how many people you play for and size of the room. I have run K12s for a few years now. I play for a a 40+ crowd of abot 200ish and use the QSC KW181 sub. It is big but sounds great and I almost never leave the sub behind.

I will say I think the Aphex 204 does a cleaner job at boosting the bass than the included bass boost on the K12s. Especially when the K12s are at higher volumes.

First night out with k12's and wow. They were everthing and more than I expected. The thing that impressed me the most was the clarity of sound I heard sounds in the music I hadn't heard before. It reminded me of the first time I listened to music through a pair of pro beats by dr dre. Plenty of thump. I had one dance couple come up to the booth and say the sound was loud with plenty of thump. I walked to the back wall of the hall with a full dance floor to listen to the sound. It was full with plenty of base and crystal clear. These speakers blew my jbl eon 15's out of the water. These will be more than adequate to fill my needs and do it with plenty of head room. Good job QSC.

Bass...

It was late man, Bass is also a fish. See how smart we are.
