Question on this...
Been debating with a fellow DJ. If you wanted to use the 8k for TCV, do you need another soundcard?
He reckons the TT sends MIDI or HID back via USB to the software.
How would they be configured for VDJ?

Yes you need an external soundcard! It' s justa a normal turntable with some buttons attatched to it! There is not such a thing like midi for TCV. The only midi signal that device send is the midi signal of the buttons!

Just as I thought...
Would hope an 8500 or 9000 could include a 2 in/out soundcard and a switch so you could flip between TCV and straight vinyl.
That would be the ultimate in my book. Then you could simply a TCV right down to just decks, mixer and laptop and only be limited by the number of USBs for number of decks in use ;-)
Cheers,
Roy

The tables can be Daisy chained and if your mixer has a soundcard built-in then you wouldn't have to worry about that. Or just grab a set of Native Instruments multi core cables and flip the switch on your mixer.
Keep it simple.........

anyone know if or when these will be natively supported?
Posted Thu 27 Feb 14 @ 5:33 pm
Why do you think it needs native support? It's just a row of buttons - it can be mapped in a matter of seconds.
Even if it did have native support, many users would want to map their buttons differently anyway.

I think he's asking because not everyone knows how to midi map.
Some people like simple plug n play with no fussing about.

This is what happens when people see "genius" on your name. You are expected to be smart enough to know at least how to do basic mapping.
: )
