Hi everyone, I am sorry if I posted the question in the wrong place, but I didnt know where to post it. My question is: do i have to insert cds into the cdj's even if i connected them to my laptop?

Assuming that they are MIDI capable CDJ's and you are using them as controllers for VirtualDJ, then no, you don't need to have CD's in them to play music in VirtualDJ. However, it's a good idea to put a suitable backup CD in each that you could switch to in an emergency.
If they are older non-MIDI capable CDJ's, then you will need a timecode CD in each to control VirtualDJ.
