I have developed a bit of occasional static or tiny skips in vid playback. It does this offline or online, with random songs, and the location of the static in the song is not consistent. I'm wondering if something running in the background is contributing to this. Windows 8.1. Any ideas?

Developed? That means it was working fine before. Before what? What have you done differently? Is the static on both screens?

Yes, developed. But after digging into this for a few days, I've found it is not a problem with VDJ software at all. I've reviewed alot of the FAQ and applied them to my situation. I've also read an enormous amount of reviews on Windows 8.1. It seems as though 8.1 has considerable problems, and that's what I'm running. There are times my CPU meter is pegged while I'm offline and not running a thing. It can very well be my problems started when I updated to 8.1, the timing is about right. I cannot remove 8.1 without a complete format and reinstall of Windows 8. I've turned off alot of the worthless running programs, and stay offline, and now getting along just OK. After NYE, I will decide what I'm going to do. But to those who read this, I strongly recommend NOT updating to 8.1
